iVe can now acquire data from almost every vehicle manufactured, worldwide, in the last ten years. This is accomplished using a new acquisition method called Automotive Network Acquisitions. Much of the underlying architecture has changed, the following are the new features, enhancements, changes and known issues for iVe version 4.0 desktop software and mobile app.

- Added ability to add a custom name for a case, with the name being displayed in the vehicle list (MADS)
- Added ability to create and edit notes to vehicles (MADS)

- Decoupled vehicle lookup and creating a vehicle (MADS)
- Redesigned vehicle lookup and moved it to ‘Tools’ (DS), and ‘Resources’ > ‘Utilities’ (MA)
- Added ability to pair Automotive Network Acquisitions with Direct Connect/Media acquisitions (DS)
- Added new vehicle dashboard in desktop (DS)
- Added additional emergency event content to Ford SYNC generation 3 parsing (DS)
- Revised parsing and some timestamp types for Ford SYNC generation 2 (DS)
- Improved parsing for Volkswagen RNS510 datasets (DS)
- Revised parsing for Nissan 08IT acquisitions to appropriately “type” navigation events (DS)
- Added ability to bypass problematic files in Mercedes NTG 5*2 tracklog parsing (DS)
- Fixed issue where maps would not load for users running iVe without admin privileges (DS)
*** Previous datasets should be re-imported with iVe 4.0 to view improvements made to parsers
Known Issues
- Generating a case report with only Automotive Network Acquisition data does not work (DS)
- Currently there is no way to export decoded/parsed automotive network acquisition data (DS)
- Updating a vehicle name in case details does not sync properly (DS)
- Data in paired acquisitions does not always appear properly in the data tree (DS)
- DLC adapter ‘Auto Connect’ option does not work (DS)
- Using the “Browse for File” menu option to link an acquisition folder requires an app restart to view source files (DS)
- There is not currently a way to save a PDF of the supported features from the vehicle lookup (DS)
- The pane on the right of the vehicle lookup does not always refresh when changes are made in the left (DS)
- Case details in a tag report do not populate the model of vehicle or have the name of the field (DS)

iVe Software Instructions:
- Click the “Download” link.
- Attach your Hardware License Key.
- Open the file named ‘iVe_WebInstaller_[release version]’ from your Downloads folder.
- The installer file named ‘iVe_Installer_[release version]’ will be extracted to your Downloads folder. Double-click this file to begin installing the software.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation process.
This .zip file contains all of the prerequisites, drivers, and main application, and requires a valid, up-to-date license to decrypt the download file.
